Today my Mothers brother has been fighting for his life over the last 18 months with colon cancer. He went to the doctor with discomfort and discovered he had only a couple of weeks to live, but he has fought now for over a year. Because of my Uncles condition in his early 50’s my Mother (age 59) was examined and it was found that she had the developing stages of the same cancerous condition. My Mothers check up may have saved her from an early demise and because these two siblings have shown this type of cancer and at an early age, I as her offspring am a hi -risk candidate and it is recommended that I start screening myself at the age of 40 which is much younger then generally directed.
